We have several large rooms of artifacts and documents from our historically fascinating and important area.

Summer hours, starting Memorial Day weekend and continuing through Labor Day weekend, are Thursday, Friday and Saturday from Noon to 5 PM. Stop in and challenge our tour guide, Don Squires.

Winter hours start the Saturday following Labor Day and are Saturdays from Noon to 4 PM.

Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for children over six years of age.

The White Pass Country Historical Museum's collection includes historical artifacts, photos, and documents from the underwater town of Kosmos to the summit of White Pass.

Included in our exhibits is information on local geographical features, the major events and the local residents who have shaped the history of the area. Exhibits change regularly so visit often. Tap this button for more information.

Our Museum houses a gift shop stocked with books on local history, a pioneer calendar featuring local historical photos, and many local handcrafted items. Contact us if you are interested in purchasing any item posted to this web site.

Packwood Mountain Festival and Fun Run

April 29, 30 & May 1 2016

The Packwood Mountain Festival and Fun Run is an annual event for adults and kids of all ages. Included are demonstrations, live music, kid's crafts and games, and special guest exhibits.

A 10k and 5K Fun Run is held on Sunday morning, with a 1K Kid's Fun Run following.

The Native American culture of the area is showcased with a drumming ceremony on Sunday afternoon.

There is a local Spring Craft Show and sale that weekend.

Stories and Articles

Our museum is a repository for many fascinating stories, articles, and historical documents relating to the area. Posting can cover reprints of newspaper articles, personality profiles of local residents, and historical information of the area. Come back and visit often as stories change quarterly.

Membership and Support

Our membership year runs from October 1st through September 30th. Joining the White Pass Country Historical Society in one of the many ways that you can show you support. With your membership you receive free entry to the museum throughout the year along with a quarterly newsletter. Tap here for membership application.

Other ways that you can support the Historical Society and the Museum are through tax deductible donations. Donations can be made in the name of a loved one, and for specific projects. Please call us for more information.

With our close proximity to Mt. Rainier, Mt. St Helens, Mt. Adams, the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and numerous Wildernesses, and White Pass, Packwood is your destination stopping place.
